The Radiologic Technologist (RT) performs a variety of radiographic
procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
The individual performs general diagnostic, portable, bedside, and
Computed Tomography (CT) exams. The Radiologic Technologist uses
sound judgment and radiologic skills to obtain the highest quality
images while keeping radiation doses to patients and personnel as
low as reasonably achievable (ALARA). Responsibilities: Reads
requisition to determine area of interest, refers to exam
guidelines for necessary views. Uses practical knowledge of anatomy
for proper positioning to obtain optimum image quality. Speaks with
patient to ascertain pertinent history associated with requested
exam. Assesses patient condition to assure best method of
performing requested exam. Operates assigned equipment and perform
all procedures adhering to safety standards. Maintains
confidentiality of all hospital and patient information according
to HIPPA guidelines. Completes other duties as assigned by the
Radiology Supervisor. Requirements: Successful completion of an
Accredited Radiologic Technology Program. At least three years of
imaging experience CT experience required. Must maintain current
Washington State DOH Certified Radiologic Technologist license;
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. ARRT (R) Registration.
