Shift:/n/nDays, 8 Hours X 5 Days /n /nWork Experience:/n/n/n /n/t -
A Physical Therapist plans and executes rehabilitation programs to
help patients return to a higher level of physical function after
an accident or surgery. /n/t - They will often also help to manage
or lessen the pain experienced by someone stricken with a
degenerative condition or terminal disease. /n/t - Physical
Therapists help patients through a combination of physical
activity, reflexology, massage and muscular and skeletal
manipulation. /n/t - The PT collaborates with speech therapists and
physical therapists to achieve the best outcomes for the patient.
90% outpatient, 10% inpatient. /n/t - Consult with patients to
learn about their physical condition and symptoms and review their
medical history and referrals from providers /n/t - Experience
working directly with patients in a long term care or hospital
setting /n/t - Diagnose movement dysfunction by listening to
patients and observing them as they move about /n/t - Develop an
individualized treatment plan /n/t - Coach patients and teach them
therapeutic exercises and stretches to improve their condition /n/t
- Use hands-on therapy such as massage, to ease patients’ pain and
provide stimulation to promote healing /n/t - Keep detailed records
relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and
progress. /n/t - Report progress and current status to appropriate
parties, which may include family members, providers and members of
the patient care committee. /n/t - Performs other duties and
responsibilities as assigned. /n/t - Maintain confidentiality in
matters relating to patient/family/staff and work environment. /n/t
- Interact with patients/families with a variety of developmental
and sociocultural backgrounds. /n/t - Provide information to
patients and families to reduce anxiety and convey an attitude of
acceptance, sensitivity, and caring. /n/t - Maintain professional
relationships and convey relevant information to other members of
the health care team within facility and any applicable referral
agencies. /n/t - Initiate communication with peers/patient care
providers about clinical priorities for care. /n/t - Relay
information appropriately over telephone, pagers, and other
communication devices. /n/t - Initiate communication with
supervisor/director about security concerns relating to medical,
nursing and other healthcare workers. /n/t - Maintain professional
relationships and convey relevant information to other members of
the health care team within facility and any applicable referral
agencies. /n/t - Possess documentation skills, have excellent
verbal communication, provide satisfactory patient services, be a
team player, Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide
are appropriate to the age of the patients served. /n
/n/n/nEducation:/n/nMasters Degree from an accredited physical
therapy program /n /nLicense:/n/nCurrent Physical Therapist state
license /n /nCertifications: /nBLS/CPR Certification. ProKatchers
