position is responsible for assisting and supporting the required
maintenance and cleanliness necessary to maintain curb appeal and
the overall appearance and quality of the property. Job
Duties/Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the
essential duties/responsibilities listed below. Reasonable

Perform daily maintenance as directed by the Maintenance Lead in
conjunction with House of Charity administration. Assist in
maintaining both the interior and exterior of the property daily,
to provide clean and acceptable facility and curb appeal at all
times. Work as a member of maintenance and janitorial team, in
conjunction with volunteers, to maintain clean and safe facility.
Daily cleaning duties may include all areas of the shelter day
rooms, dining room, public and staff restrooms, offices, water
fountains and medical clinic as follows: cleaning and sanitizing,
trash removal, recycling, laundering, sweeping and mopping,
dusting, window washing. Cleaning may be located in all areas of
the building and outside in the surrounding public neighborhood
areas, as well as other buildings within the HOC campus. Performs
daily walks throughout the facility to detect hazards. Monitor
building operations in the absence of other staff as assigned.
Ensures that House of Charity rules are being observed and that it
is a safe environment for patrons, staff and volunteers. Assist in
maintaining safety and security by monitoring all general access
areas. Maintain janitor closets ensuring that supplies and
chemicals are available, properly labeled and stored. Restock
cleaning supplies and paper products in janitorial closets, cart
and general areas daily, or as needed. Ensure that floors,
stairways and outside of the building are clean of debris and
hazards that may jeopardize health and safety. Perform work orders
as required. Assist with on-call duties. Uses appropriate
administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to
ensure theconfidentiality,integrity, and security of CCEW client
protected health information (PHI), per regulations outlined in the
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996
(HIPAA). Will regularly utilize all forms of communication (email,
text, phone, etc.) and database practices necessary for this
position and as directed by supervisor. As a mandated reporter,
follows all procedures outlined in agency policies and procedures
to report to the proper agency when there is suspicion and/or
confirmation that a child or adult has been a victim of abuse or
neglect. Perform other relevant duties as assigned. Adhere to the
tenets of Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic Doctrine. Perform
as a team member to assure that productivity outcome measures are

mission and core values of Catholic Charities. Job Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the
minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are
representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to
perform this job. Education/Experience: perform this job
successfully, an individual must have a High School Diploma or GED
and at least one (1) year prior experience in all aspects of
building and grounds maintenance; or an equivalent combination of
education and experience. Demonstrated ability in one or more
building repair areas; plumbing, drywall, electrical, HVAC etc.
Certificates/Licenses: To perform this job successfully, an
individual must have a Drivers License and the ability to drive for
work use. Must successfully pass background check as applicable to
position. Physical Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to: Regularly stand, climb, walk,
hear/listen, talk Frequently lift up to 50-100 pounds, pull/push,
carry, grasp, reach, stoop, kneel Occasionally sit, crawl Clearly

Environmental Conditions While performing the essential
duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee will be: Noise
Conditions: exposed during a shift to constant or intermittent
sounds at moderate to loud levels of sound dependent upon the
activities of the Shelter. Exposure to Trauma : Employees of
Catholic Charities Eastern Washington provide direct services to
vulnerable community members including those who have behavioral
health challenges and those who have been exposed to trauma. Heat:
